Lowering Aminopherase
　　The pharmacology experiment of Gansu on big mouse’s liver damaged by CCl4 proved that Gansu functions to protect liver by lowering the blood serum and aminopherase. Gansu granules can also help to protect little mouse from infectious poisoning by lowering blood serum hold-up level. A control test on hypnody resulted by Phenobarbital sodium showed that recovery time has shortened and death rate reduced.

Normalizing gallbladder and treating jaundice
　　A test experiment has been conducted on dodecadactylon patients using Gansu granules and Sodium deoxycholate. While patients treated with Sodium deoxycholate showed no obvious results after half an hour, patients given Gansu showed increase in biliary secretion volume. After one hour, the total bilirubin level presences in the blood were significantly reduced. This proved that Gansu is stronger than Sodium deoxycholate.

Fighting hepatovirus
　　The results of the test experiment on external bodies’ 2215 transfection cell line and DHBV showed that each dosage of Gansu granules helps in the lowering of DHBV-DNA tite in the blood serum. The withdrawal from the high dosage group showed no significant “bounce-back” after once week.

Protecting against hepatic injury
　　An approach to test the effectiveness of Gansu powder in protecting liver had been conducted on mouse liver by monitoring the blood serum, TNFα and PGE2 presence in the liver’s tissue homogenate, and pathological changes. The results of the damaged mouse’s liver which was not treated with Gansu showed a significant damage to the liver tissues and increase in the level of ALT and TNFα. On the other hand, the mouse’s liver which was treated with Gansu showed a decrease in ALT and TNFα levels and an increase in the level of PGE2. This proved that Gansu is capable of protecting the liver by suppressing the production of TNFα. through raising the PGE2 level.

Preventing liver cancer and protection functions
　　Gansu granule is effective in preventing the occurrence of liver cancer anterior tubercle that is induced by DHBV-DNA. It reduces the number of liver cancer enzyme GST-P positive nodus significantly, which helped to suppress the transmission of the GST-P and mRNA.

Immunological regulation
　　Gansu granules serve to control the immunity, raise the PEG2 level of the liver, improve the inflammatory reaction of the cells, prevent degeneration necrosis of the hepatocellular and enhance the cells revitalization. Gansu helps to raise the PEG2 level of the blood serum and tissue of the damaged liver of the little mouse and lowers its TNFα level.
